Title: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Location: Ohio University Date: February 19, 2005
Ohio University, School of Physical Therapy, is seeking applications for tenure- track faculty at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, based on qualifications and experience. The entry-level doctoral program accepts 36 students per year. A post-professional doctoral degree program is currently in development. We have 11 full-time faculty members and two part-time for laboratory instructors.
The successful candidate will hold a post-professional doctoral degree, in addition to an entry-level degree in physical therapy. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is required. Teaching responsibilities are negotiable. Established faculty members as well as recent graduates of doctoral programs are encouraged to apply. Teaching experience is desirable. It is expected that the candidate will have an established research agenda and those seeking a position at the rank of Associate Professor or above must have a record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding.
Generous start-up funds and laboratory space are available for candidates to establish their research program. In addition, there are several mechanisms to obtain intramural funding to support the candidates research agenda. Teaching loads are also reduced in the first few years to help the candidate focus on his/her research agenda and to obtain extramural support. Current faculty use both human and animal models to investigate a variety of orthopedic and neurological impairments.
Please contact Averell S. Overby, P.T., Dr.P.H. if you are interested in this position. Review of applications is on-going. The position is available for Fall 2005. If you will be attending the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, Dr. Overby will be staying at the Conference Hotel. Contact information is as follows: Phone: 740-593-2624; fax 740-593-0293 E-mail:
