Assistant Professor (Biomechanics/Motor Behavior): University of
Mississippi, Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation
Management (Nine-month, Tenure Track).

Qualified applicants should possess (1) a doctorate in biomechanics/motor
behavior or related field, (2) teaching ability and experience in higher
education, and (3) a record of publications and grants commensurate with
experience. Candidates should possess expertise in biomechanical movement
assessment with an emphasis in clinical/applied research utilizing
functional assessment techniques in diverse populations. Responsibilities
of this position include, but are not limited to: (1) teaching
undergraduate and graduate courses including biomechanics, motor control,
kinesiology, and research methods, (2) conducting and publishing scholarly
research, (3) advising undergraduate and graduate students, (4)
participating in the development and direction of theses and dissertations,
(5) pursuing competitive external funding, and (6) engaging in departmental,
university, and professional service. Collaborative research with current
faculty in motor behavior, exercise physiology, and health promotion is also
expected.

The Division of Exercise Science offers a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Exercise
Science. The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation
Management houses the state-of-the-art Applied Biomechanics and Motor
Control Laboratory on the Oxford campus. Research equipment includes an
Ariel Motion Analysis System, GaitRite portable walkway, MTI OR6-6 Force
Plate, NORAXON Telemyo EMG System, and Datapac 2K2 software.

The position will be available August, 2005. Evaluations of applications
will begin immediately and will continue until filled or an adequate
applicant pool is established. Competitive salary is commensurate with
experience.
