The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of New England is inviting applications for
an Assistant or Associate Professor, with pediatric expertise, to teach in our Doctor of Physical
Therapy program. Our accredited program was established in 1980 and is housed in the College
of Health Professions, offering opportunities for participation in the College’s Integrated, Interdisciplinary,
Health, and Healing (I²H²) initiative. This initiative is a multi-faceted approach to education, training,
research, and practice and aims to provide students and faculty with opportunities to work collaboratively
to promote the best possible care and health outcomes. College and department facilities include a
state-of-the-art Biomechanics Lab with EMG, video analysis, force plate equipment, and a Lite Gait body

will be given to applicants with ABPTS certification or teaching experience. Candidates must be eligible for physical
therapy licensure in Maine. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.

UNE is an independent, co-educational institution with two campuses on the southern coast of Maine. The Physical
Therapy program is located on the Portland campus and is close to excellent medical facilities and clinics. Portland is
Maine’s largest city and the business, financial, medical, and retail center, yet its relatively small size provides an
exceptional living environment. A vibrant cultural atmosphere, with exceptional theater, concerts, and dining, characterizes
Portland. In addition, the seaside location provides ample opportunities for water recreation and is within easy driving
distance to inland lakes and mountains.

Faculty from UNE will be attending the 2005 APTA Combined Sections Meeting and will be available to meet with
individuals interested in our position. Kirsten Potter, PT, MS, NCS, Chair - Faculty Search Committee, can be contacted
