Human Impact Engineering (HIE) is an Australian-based company that provides support in

engineering analysis, testing and design. HIE has expertise in the biomechanics of impact

injury, including:



● Accident investigation and crash reconstruction

● Investigation of human injury causation

● Design and evaluation of safety equipment, and

● Litigation support



Using skills in advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) techniques, HIE has the ability to

design engineering systems (with emphasis on safety equipment), perform mechanical testing,

provide policy advice, conduct research, and undertake project management for private

corporations, government agencies and research institutions.



HIE has worked with organisations such as the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, Australian

Defence Association, Department of Defence (Canada), Holden, Autoliv, Australian Harness

Racing Council, Australian Racing Board, NSW Police, Crashlab, Roads & Traffic Authority

(NSW), Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR), Monash University Accident Research

Centre (MUARC) and various universities within Australia.
