Innovative Sports Training, Inc. (IST) makes The MotionMonitor(TM) a real time, 3-D motion

capture system for medical, biomechanical and motor control research; ergonomic studies;

physical therapy and rehabilitation; and, sports medicine and sports training with special

emphasis on golf.

These systems track the position and orientation of up to 18 body segments and their

landmarks using Ascension Technology magnetic trackers, OptoTrak optical marker and

Polhemus magnetic trackers with measurement rates up to 240 hz for each sensor. Data is

integrated and synchronized with video and up to 64 channels of A/D data collected from

Bertec, AMTI and Kistler force plates, EMG, or other switch input. Measurement rates are

selectable up to 25 Khz per channel.

Output is in the form of a real time display of computer rendered, exactly proportioned, 3-D

figures together with graphs and tables of user selected data. Data include all kinematic and

kinetic data, joint forces & moments, helical axes and grood-suntay angles. All raw and

processed data may be exported for further analysis in other software.

IST systems include: control over anthropometric and smoothing assumptions; permit digitization

of joint centers, landmarks and segment axes; automatically align force vectors with world axes

systems; include digitization and creation of mesh files; and, registration of x-rays.
