| | Tekscan, Inc, Boston, MA, USA, provides unique pressure and force sensing systems to screen |
| | the diabetic foot, identify potential plantar foot ulceration areas, and assess foot problems, gait, |
| | and posture related disorders. The foot systems also allow evaluating desired expected |
| | outcomes and treatments, including insoles, orthotics, shoes, physical therapy and surgery. |
| | There are several systems available, each with unique features and treatment application. |
| | |
| | The in-shoe F-Scan(R) and F-Scan Mobile(R) provide bipedal plantar pressures and force |
| | during gait or stance by placing thin sensors inside the shoes. The F-Scan Mobile(R) is unique |
| | by allowing data capture without the subject being connected to the computer for field studies. |
| | The MatScan(R) is a floor platform providing barefoot plantar pressure and force during the |
| | stance phase of gait. The HR Mat(TM) is also a floor platform, but contains a higher resolution |
| | sensor for applications with small children, handicapped, and highly deformed feet. The |
| | Walkway(TM) is an extended floor mat that provides measurements and analysis over several |
| | steps. |
| | |
| | For dental applications, the T-Scan(TM)II records and analyzes occlusal forces enabling all |
| | cases to be finished with a balanced bite. |
| | |
| | All systems consist of sensors, data acquisition hardware, and easy to use software. |
