History

 

Brief Summary

The Working Group on Computer Simulation was founded by Professor Mont Hubbard (University of California, Davis, USA) and the late Dr. Andrzej Komor (Institute of Sport, Warsaw, Poland) in 1986.

The group held its first symposium at the Institute for Aircraft Engineering and Applied Mechanics, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland in June, 1987.

The second Symposium on Computer Simulation in Biomechanics was hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California, Davis, USA in June of 1989

The third symposium took place at the Departments of Mathematics and Human Movement Studies, The University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia in December, 1991.

At the XIIIth ISB congress (Perth, 1991) a general meeting of the Working Group on Computer Simulation voted to become a Technical Group under the revised ISB constitution.
