Run both executable files (novel.exe and dat.exe) by either double clicking on the corresponding icon or by selecting File, Run and then the file in the Program Manager of MS-windows.
The dat.exe program should extract the following files:
The novel.exe program should extract the following files:
Run the Setup.exe file by double clicking on the setup icon or selecting File, Run and Setup.exe in MS-Windows. The program will ask you to specify a directory in which the demo program should be placed. The default is c:\novelwin. Do not specify the same directory the downloaded and extracted files are located. Follow the instructions which appear on screen to automatically create the three icons for emedsf, emascii and the User's Guide.
These instructions are repeated in the beginning of the User's Guide.
The two executable files, demedsf and dascii, should then be ready to use. The file demedsf allows you to view pressure, forces and areas under selected footsteps.
The file dascii.exe will convert the data to an ascii file on the hard drive.
The *.dat files should be transferred to a subdirectory called dat (c:\novelwin\dat). It is important to have all the data files the novel.exe program in the main emed directory and all the files from dat.exe in a separate subdirectory called 'dat'.
Note that the programs demedsf and dascii will only work with the data files listed above.
