The ISB Awards for 2013 have been announced. Applications are now requested for the Promising ScientistClinical BiomechanicsDavid Winter Young Investigator and Emerging Scientist Awards. Use the links for the details of each award.

The next ISB Congress is being held in 2013 in Natal, Brazil. Make sure you are there for our major meeting of all ISB members and others who work in the international Biomechanics community. Please stay tuned for all updates on events, satelite conferences, submissions, travel grants for students and EDC members, and keynote and invited speakers. For ISB members from Economically Developing Countries funding is possible from Grand Challenges Canada and the Schlumberger Foundation, which are dedicated to funding researchers from developing and emerging countries. Furthermore, proposal/application deadlines for these funding opportunities begin in early September 2012. Read more ... 

 

DavidWinterIt is with great sadness that we inform the International Biomechanics community of the passing of Professor David Winter. David Winter had a pioneering role in defining the biomechanics field.  His methods and rationale for using biomechanics to understand movement are foundational to the modern science of biomechanics. The International Biomechanics community passes our sincere condolences to David's family. Details about David and his funeral can be found at this link.
