“‘Crossing Borders through Sport Science’ as conference theme should reflect the long-lasting tradition of Austria in bringing together people from all over the world but also the emphasis of the European College to fully cover all disciplines and topics within Sport Science. Especially plenary but also invited symposia will be chosen carefully to highlight different view points on specific topics in order to summarize existing knowledge but also to find new ideas and ways of research in our area.”

Thank you to everyone who applied for the previous round of ISB Student Grants. We received a high standard of application and are very excited to announce our latest recipients….

Congratulations to Lauren Benson (University of Wisconsin) and Kevin Valenzuela (University of Tennessee) on being awarded a Matching Dissertation Grant (MDG). These grants of $US2500 are awarded for doctoral dissertation research with the home institute matching the ISB’s financial support. Good luck with your dissertation, Lauren and Kevin!

Congratulations also go to our four International Travel Grant (ITG) recipients; Xian Liew (Curtin University), Scott Brown (Auckland University of Technology), András Hegyi (University of Jyväskylä) and Annamaria Peter (University of Jyväskylä). The ITG of $US1500 will allow our recipients to travel abroad to experience science in other countries and cultures, and to build up international collaborations. Stay tuned for Xian, Scott, András and Annamaria’s trip reports to hear what they got up to!
