BOOM Episode 7 is live! Check out the link to listen:: "Having a Blast - Survivability Research and Learning to Adapt"

Our ISB Student Representative, Melissa Boswell, has put together a great new initiative to encourage community engagement and support for students via a biomechanics podcast, called Biomechanics On Our Minds (BOOM!). Visit the BOOM podcast site and have a listen!

The ISB is pleased to announce that the 2021 ISB Congress will be travelling back to Europe and will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. Competition was fierce to host the next ISB Congress and it was a difficult decision by the ISB Council members, but congratulations to the Swedish team and we look forward to visiting in 2021.

The next ISB conference will be held in Calgary in 2019 and we are very much looking forward to the event. The event organisers have been working hard behind the scenes already and you can find out more from the official ISB2019 website, which is now live!

The minutes of the 2015 General Assembly of the ISB will be considered at the General Assembly in Brisbane on Thursday 27 July 2017.

Dr. José Acero invited Andrea Hemmerich, EDC Project Officer, to present a seminar about the ISB-EDC Program at the 2nd International Congress of Applied and Sports Biomechanics (ICB) in Medellín, Colombia. Andrea connected live via webcast and answered questions on how the ISB could support biomechanics research in Latin America. The Colombian Association of Biomechanics was formed at this meeting; we are anticipating future affiliation of this society with the ISB. Thanks to Dr. Felipe Carpes for support and to Dr. Acero for organizing as well as English-Spanish translation throughout this presentation.

The Call for Applications for the EDC Congress Travel Grant in order to attend the XXV ISB Congress in Glasgow, Scotland, is now open. Please see the Application Instructions below for further details.

WCB is an international meeting held once every four years, rotating among Europe, Asia and the Americas. The 7th WCB will once again bring together bioengineers, biomechanists, life scientists and medical researchers from around the world for 5 days of in-depth discussions and presentations. The ISB has major role at the WCB and and there are number ISB based sessions, including the ISB Motor Control I and II, Footwear-Force, Footwear-Muscle, Footwear-Move, Footwear-Foot, and the ISB Presidential Symposiums. Make sure you are attending WCB2014 and also attend all the ISB Session.

ISB members discussed strategic initiatives on which the ISB should focus to better develop biomechanics programs in EDC regions during a morning session at the ISB2013 Congress. Outcomes from this professional workshop, in which participants from both EDC and non-EDC academic institutions were represented, are detailed in a report that can be downloaded by members here.

An EDC Meet & Greet luncheon is being organized during the ISB2013 Congress in Natal, Brazil!
