Essential functions of this opportunity:


The Biomechanical Engineer will work directly with six senior engineers on a variety of supporting tasks.  Responsibilities will include:


·        Laboratory experimentation including the use of load cells, accelerometers, potentiometers, high-speed digital imagers, and impactors


·         Data archival, organization, and retrieval


·         Design of mechanical testing systems, including CAD


·         Data collection and data processing, including digital signal analysis


·         MATLAB coding


·         Report writing and presentation preparation


·         Literature searches and summaries


·         Engineering analysis, including analysis of medical images


·         Periodic travel August to December on selected projects, otherwise limited travel


 


The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:


         


       Strong experimentation skills including work in an impact lab  


Ba   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar


·         Advanced working knowledge of MATLAB


·         Advanced working knowledge of data acquisition systems and software such as LabVIEW


·         Advanced working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD packages


·         Experience in an impact test laboratory is preferred


·         Knowledge of instrumentation and basic electronic circuitry


·         Knowledge of digital signal processing, including power spectrum analysis and data filtering


·         Self-motivated and resourceful, with proven ability to multi-task and operate independently


·         Meticulous


·         Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills


·         Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills


·         Excellent time management and organizational skills


·         Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


 


·         Spoken and written fluency in English
