The Kessler Foundation (West Orange, New Jersey) is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to conduct Rehabilitation Neuroscience and Engineering Research to improve the rehabilitation outcomes of individuals disabled due to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal diseases and injuries by training doctoral-level researchers committed to advancing the field of rehabilitation that will improve overall health and function. 

Applications are being accepted for fellowships funded by an Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT) grant from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), and are expected to last for a two year term.

Current research domains of high priority are:

(1) Sensorimotor Neuroscience,

(2) Rehabilitation Robotics & Engineering, and

(3) Neuroimaging.

All domains are focused towards Clinical Rehabilitation outcomes for individuals with disabilities such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and musculoskeletal conditions.

Qualifying candidates must have an earned doctorate in engineering (e.g. biomedical, rehabilitation, mechanical), biomechanics, kinesiology, motor control/neuroscience, or a related field. Strong candidates will have prior experience in performing research studies in human subjects, as well as some history of publication and presentation of original research. Additional desirable skills and experience include: experience with motion analysis, experience with medical imaging (e.g., MRI, high-density EEG, TMS), experience with EMG collection/analysis, the ability to independently develop processing methods for data analysis (using for example Matlab or Labview), knowledge of statistical data analysis, and excellent written communication skills.
