JOB TITLE: Research Associate for Athletic Training


Position Description:


The Ohio University School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness, in the College of Health Sciences and Professions, invites applications for a full-time, Research Associate position in the Division of Athletic Sciences, main campus. This is a full time position beginning in January 2019.


Position Summary:


The Research Associate works with the supervisor to perform research study tasks and analyze data as delegated by the Principal Investigator.  The person in this position will be an integral part of the research team and interact directly with study participants.


Primary Accountabilities:


1.       Perform experiments and data collection related to neuroimaging, biomechanics and orthopedic assessment.


2.       Track and manage participant study recruiting and enrollment.


3.       Train and work with students.


4.       Perform data analysis.


5.       Engage in research activities (manuscript writing, literature search, etc.).


Minimum Qualifications:


a)      Earned Bachelor of Science degree in the following areas of study and experience: clinical or applied neuroscience, biomechanics or kinesiology, athletic training or physical therapy, engineering and exercise physiology, and other related fields.


b)     Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with others.


Preferred Qualifications:


a)      Licensure in athletic training, physical therapy or related medical discipline.


b)     Earned Master’s of Science degree in the following areas of study: clinical or applied neuroscience, biomechanics or kinesiology, athletic training or physical therapy, engineering and exercise physiology, and other related fields.


Starting Date:  January, 2019
