Position Description:
This is a nine-month tenure track position that will report to the Director of the School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness
as part of the Division of Exercise Physiology program. Starting August 15, 2020, the successful candidate will be responsible
for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in bio-mechanics, motor development, and other relevant courses as needed
within the Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training program areas.The successful candidate will also mentor student research
projects. The candidate will maintain an active, extramurally funded research program and work collaboratively with the
University and Community programs to promote student learning and research opportunities such as with OMNI,
Ohio Musculoskeletal & Neurological Institute. Their overarching aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of
musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. The candidate will advise majors, assist in placement and supervision of interns,
and serve on school, college, and university committees. Preferred candidate would contribute to the climate of diversity in the
College; including a diversity of scholarly approaches.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate with specialization in Biomechanics or related field (Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, Neuromuscular
Physiology, Neuro-mechanics, Movement Science, Motor Control, Motor Development and/or learning); ABD will be considered
within guidelines.
• Evidence of successful teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
• Experience with biomechanical tools and methods.
• Ability to engage in research and develop a focused research agenda with potential for extramural funding.
• Involved in professional associations in the field of exercise science, exercise physiology, or athletic training.
• Commitment to quality undergraduate and graduate education.
• Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process.
• Commitment to involvement in professional organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Possession of associated credentials (e.g. ACSM, NSCA, NATA)

Starting Date: August 15, 2020

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. It is an academic year appointment with potential for additional
summer teaching, plus university benefits including tuition for self and family, a comprehensive insurance package
