The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine’s Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago is seeking to hire a director for its Human Performance Laboratory as part of a 12 month, open-ranked tenure-track position. Founded in 2004, CLEAR serves as one of the nation’s most productive and well-known interdisciplinary podiatric research centers as evidenced by its exemplary publication record in diverse journals and a history of industry and federally funded projects from agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the American Diabetes Association. Ongoing research efforts within CLEAR are focused on: biomechanics of locomotion; material testing; fall-risk assessment; diabetic wound healing; fall-prevention and promoting mobility across populations including older adults, patients with diabetes, patients with traumatic brain injury, patients with obesity, and patients with lower extremity amputation. The successful candidate must be able to synergistically contribute to these efforts. The Human Performance Laboratory is a state-of-the-art 1800 sq ft facility that houses a 14 camera VICON system, 5 Kistler force plates, a Motek C-Mill treadmill, Biodex, Instron 8511 material testing system, Gaitrite, Pedar, Emed, Tekscan pressure sensing systems, Trigno wireless EMG, a portable calorimetry system, and additional body worn sensors.
