Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Kinesiology Department beginning August 2024. This is a new academic program and we are seeking candidates who are excited to grow and shape the department.

This position requires teaching and scholarship in kinesiology. Priority will be given to candidates with an interest in biomechanics or related disciplines. Candidates must be able to teach Biomechanics, as well as other lower- and upper-level undergraduate courses in Kinesiology, such as Exercise Assessment and Prescription and General Wellness. Candidates should also appreciate and take advantage of the connections possible at a liberal arts institution and be passionate about involving undergraduate students in their research. A Ph.D. in Kinesiology or other appropriate field is required.

Opportunities for collaborative research exist at the nearby Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, there are excellent funding opportunities, and the College has a high success rate in securing funds for teaching and research.

Centenary College is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our college community. Centenary College recognizes that diversity is essential to its goal of providing an educational environment where students explore the unfamiliar, invent new approaches to understanding, and connect their work and lives to the world at large. We thus welcome applicants who would add to the College's diversity of ideas, beliefs, experiences, and cultural backgrounds.

To apply, please submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts from all institutions of higher learning, and the names, telephone numbers, and email addresses of three references. Candidate materials should address experience and/or commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and to advancing the College's commitment to diversity. Official transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a background check are required before a candidate can be hired.

The Committee will begin reviewing applications immediately and continue until the position is filled.
