Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a two-year visiting assistant professor level in the Kinesiology Department beginning August 2024. This is a new academic program and we are seeking candidates who are committed to growing the department through development and assessment of quality coursework, creation of hands-on learning and lab experiences for students, and building relationships across campus and the community.


Centenary College is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings, and service that address the experiences of underrepresented minorities and contribute to the diversity and excellence of our college community. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.


Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching in kinesiology, be deeply committed to teaching at a liberal arts institution. Priority will be given to candidates with an interest in physiology and/or motor control or related disciplines. Candidates must be able to teach lower- and upper-level courses in Kinesiology, such as Exercise Assessment and Prescription and Principles of Strength & Conditioning. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is expected.  A Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Kinesiology or other appropriate field is required.


The Biology Department has a well-equipped core molecular facility and opportunities for collaborative research exist at the nearby Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. There are excellent funding opportunities, and the College has a high success rate in securing funds for teaching and research.
