Student Travel Reports

With thanks to the International Society of Biomechanics Travel Grant, I was able to attend and present at the ISB XXII Congress. I enjoyed this conference thoroughly! With a broad spectrum of research within biomechanics, it was an always interesting and stimulating conference.

Within BioFluids (my field), I appreciated the opportunity to meet and chat with some of the other presenters - to compare notes (so to speak) on challenges and solutions. For my own paper, I had fun (presentations are always fun)! The questions posed during my talk were refreshing; it was helpful to learn some new ideas in informal discussion afterward too.

I enjoyed many other talks too. The talk by Seiichi Sudo, titled "Morphological changes in cut dandelion" was, in my mind, simply beautiful. It was a very eloquent study and presentation.

Beyond BioFluids, I enjoyed many other talks. Some were intellectually astounding; others were technically advanced. Generally, I found them to be excellent; good research was presented by good speakers. I enjoyed the challenge to learn - especially in fields that were outside of my expertise.

My first experience at an ISB conference was, simply, great. I look forward to my next opportunity to present at an ISB conference.

Again, thank you for your assistance.
